The Royal Basque Society of the Friends of the Country, in their eagerness to spread Basque culture, published numerous books in each of its Commissions and its Delegaciones en Corte (Offices at Court) and in Mexico. Cultura, pensamiento y literatura de los escritores transterrados en 1939”, coordinated by Emilio Palacios Fern\u00e1ndez (2000); “La Literatura de los jesuitas vascos expulsos (1767-1815)”, by Antonio Astorgano Abajo (2009); and “Jos\u00e9 M\u00aa de Odriozola y O\u00f1ativia (1782-1864). De las bellas artes a las ciencias matem\u00e1ticas y f\u00edsicas”, by Juli\u00e1n Serrano (2009).<\/p>\n
It has also been the source of various collections, such as the “Colecci\u00f3n Ilustraci\u00f3n Vasca”, published since 1990 with “La Bot\u00e1nica y los Naturalistas en la Ilustraci\u00f3n Vasca”, by \u00c1ngel Goicoetxea Marcaida; the Colecci\u00f3n “Estudios e Informes”, which began with the “Problem\u00e1tica del agua y de los residuos s\u00f3lidos en las Corporaciones Locales”, by Ant\u00f3n Azcona; the “Colecci\u00f3n Lanak”, which began in 1994 (Contains conferences and public speeches by Royal Basque Society members in Bizkaia; the Colecci\u00f3n “Hitzez Hitz” Bilduma, whose first volume was dedicated to Temas Culturales Vascos\/Euskal Kultura-Gaiak penned by Julio Caro Baroja, Vicente Palacio Atard, Leandro Silv\u00e1n, Antonio Tovar and Francisco Yndurain; or the “Colecci\u00f3n EKINTZAK”, whose fifth issue was dedicated to “La Generaci\u00f3n del 98”.<\/p>\n
It prompted the publication of the Proceedings of Seminars and Meetings: “Actas de la III\u00aa Semana de la Delegaci\u00f3n en Corte” dedicated to “De Bellas Letras y Artes en Euskalherria, hoy”, directed by Guadalupe Rubio de Urqu\u00eda [Delegaci\u00f3n en Corte, 1994]; the”I\u00bas Encuentros sobre Historia. Siglo XVIII” [Vitoria, 1999]; the “Aulas de Bio\u00e9tica” organized as part of the Conference on Bioethics held since 2000 [Commission of Gipuzkoa]; the various “Jornadas Vizcaya ante el s. XXI\/ Bizkaia XXI mende aurrez”; or the Congres “Ilustraci\u00f3n, Ilustraciones and the “XI Congreso de la Sociedad Espa\u00f1ola de Historia de las Ciencias y de las T\u00e9cnicas”, held in Intsausti Palace in 2007 and 2011.<\/p>\n
Also printed were journals such as “Estudios Vizca\u00ednos. Revista del Centro de Estudios Hist\u00f3ricos de Vizcaya”, first published in Bilbao in 1970 under the direction of Andr\u00e9s Eliseo Ma\u00f1aricua Nuere, or the journal “Munibe” by Anthropology-Archaeology and Natural Sciences, which is run today by the Aranzadi Science Society.<\/p>\n
In 1991 the Royal Basque Society of the Friends of the Country began publishing its newsletter under the name of “Orria” to keep members informed of its work and this was carried out quarterly by the respective Commissions and Delegaci\u00f3n en Corte (Office at Court). This publication has been replaced by the inclusion of the annual report in the journal, published annually by the Society, and the regular and timely delivery of the most up-to-date online distribution of information by the Secretariat.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
